"Fake Natives" -- working on it

We've been working on arranging and layering the 10 songs that'll be on our upcoming release, "Fake Natives." It's been a tough couple of weeks as far as getting these songs to live-show-quality, but the last few practices have been going well. We've outlined the skeletons (guitar, bass, drums) of 5 out of the 10 songs. The sounds are fairly different from the "¡Rerevolution!" EP, but I think we're going to have a more cohesive feel to this one. You can expect more of a layered, psychedelic sound combined with catchy, poppy hooks. The songs are predominately about Native American culture and history, but they also discuss some more general topics, too. Here's the track listing (not in order):

Geronimo!
Fake Natives
Coyote Jane
Settlers
Antelope
Not India
Chief Among Them
Not Mad, Nomad
White Wipe Out
Age of the Jaguwar

We'll be playing some of these songs at our shows this fall, and we are going to get in the studio once we are happy with their arrangements. We're playing to have this project finished by the end of October. Here is one of our early sketches from this group of songs:

(Things will definitely change in this song ... more parts, more verses, different beats, but you can get a feel for what we are going for.)

P.S. -- We're playing The Little Apple Oktoberfest this year. It's scheduled for October 15th outside of Manhattan on Highway 24. There's going to be a ton of Tallgrass brew for you to drink. Get "early bird" tickets here:
